I can't remeber any of the name sof the games, but I spent hours playing them several years ago. Today's game has a similar mechanic except you are trying to land in a target area to score points. There's a similar game on Steam called Turbo Dismount ( with similar but better graphics to todays game) where you crash your vehicle and score points from the amount of damage inflicted. Truck Dismount (downloadable) or Stickman Dismount (Browser). It reminds me of those dismount games where you crash vehicles or jump off stairs and score points by breaking as many bones in your body as you can e.g. Once I got the hang of the mechanic I quite enjoyed playing the game and will be keeping this one for my break times. You can see some videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HEREand HERE. It took me several attempts to finally get silver and then a gold Landing correctly will take practice, but once you've sussed the sequence, it should be easier to complete levels. ( 90 points for your first paid for skip and 180 points for three skips). After several attempts at retrying, you will be offered a skip for free however, later failures will cost you points to move on. After a few attempts and failing you are offered the ability to skip the level and move on to the next one, or you can click on the skip button or retry the level until you successfully complete a flip without falling flat on your face. To unlock the next level you need to score at least a silver. Points can be spent on different hats of which there are several to collect. Each attempt is finished with your score that shows the number of points you've earned. Once you've tried out the tutorial you move onto the first of the nine area's. ![]() After a quick demonstration there are four stages to the flip, i.e.ġ). You can skip the tutorial if you wish, but I would recommend you check it out first so that you know exactly what to do to complete a level. Once you've complete all levels in an area, you unlock the next area. Depending which marked area you land it you'll score a Bronze, Silver or Gold, with an extra task that doesn't have to be completed, but earns more in game cash for example by only flipping once or landing on a particular obstacle to name just a few of the extra tasks to complete. Each level has four tasks to complete three of which are targeted area's where you need to land when flipping. To move to a new level you have to complete it to at least silver. Starting with the Gym, then moving on to The Mountain, The City, The Funhouse, The Factory, The Ship, The Island, The Haunted House and finally Space. Apart from the tutorial, every other area includes seven levels to unlock. There are 64 levels grouped into ten different area's however, only the tutorial and the first level of nine area's are unlocked at the start of the game. Lee and Yoo are electric together, conveying an excess of feelings both unspoken and not fully understood through their graceful exchange of looks and dialogue. Over the course of the next two decades, the pair reconnects online, fades apart again, and reconnects again in person when Hae Sung plans a trip to New York, where they have to grapple with the fact that neither of them is the person they were 20 years ago. At 12 years old, Nora immigrates to Canada with her family, leaving behind her life in Seoul, which includes her childhood crush Hae Sung. ![]() The film is highly autobiographical, with Song essentially rendering her own lived experience within the film as Nora. It is not a failed love story, but it is a lost love story, as its characters fall victim to the realities of time and circumstance and are left wondering what may have been if either of those things had been different. The things we decide for ourselves and those that are chosen for us, the people you know now and those you once knew, the feelings that fade and the ones that remain with achingly sharp clarity. In her debut feature, writer/director Celine Song proceeds to tell a decades-spanning love story preoccupied with all the ineluctable fine details of life that decide the destination of one’s adulthood. Are the Korean Nora and Hae Sung together? Are they tourists here with their white tour guide? Or are Nora and Arthur actually the ones together? Nora looks into the camera knowingly, as if to communicate what the viewer likely already knows: It could never be so simple. Right now, they’re probing the connections between three people: Nora (Lee), who is nestled between Hae Sung (Yoo) and Arthur (Magaro). Past Lives begins in a bar, with an unseen couple playing a game where they attempt to figure out the relationships of their fellow drinkers. ![]() I like worn, thin original paint, but I greatly dislike rust. Now, with that being said, I'm a little different about patina. The vehicle has character, like a middle-aged woman with a killer figure. See Item #1.ģ): If it's patina'd, it's a lot of fun because you want to drive it all the time. ![]() Everybody would ask the same question, and it drove me nuts, and I had it painted. I had a '69 Z/28 back in the '80s that I drove in grey primer for 3 years before I painted it. ![]() The bad part is, you are constantly asked the question, "When are you going to paint it?". You can lean on the fenders when you work on it, you can touch it up easily, and you can freshen up the primer easily. It takes the enjoyment out of it.Ģ): If it's primered, it's a different story. You park it a mile away from everyone else, and you never let it leave your sight at a show. Honestly, the most fun ones where the ones with the faded paint jobs and here's why:ġ): If it's painted with a big-dollar paint job, you don't want to drive it for fear of hurting the paint. I've had 'em shiny with big dollar paint jobs, primered, and patina'd. The cost was in taking it from old paint to bare metal and many hours of primering and blocking to get it perfect. The photo by the way was taken three years ago. I'm thinking that the paint was about 5 years old in the photos but I saw the truck a few weeks ago and it still looks like it just rolled out of the paint shop this year. The body is about as close to flawless as you will find even though the truck gets driven to at least one event a week along with being driven several times a week. It was taken from a really nice truck with a great body to what you see here at a friend of mine's body shop several years ago. ![]() This truck has a $10,000.00 paint job on it. The cost of the paint and materials has gotten pretty high these days and that is one thing that contributes to the high cost of nice paint along with labor costs. Over the past 50 years I've found that body and paint men are the original moonlighters and many will take on side jobs after their day of working for someone else in a regular shop. Am I way off?Īround here at least a lot depends on how much of the work you can do yourself and how well you can do it.Īround here if you can get the vehicle to the ready to shoot the final primer stage there are a few guys who are really good with a paint gun who will shoot the paint for a few hundred dollars. I thought you could get one done for around $1,500-$2,000. Not to get into the discussion between whether the patina look is good or bad, but I am curious, is it that hard to save up for a shop paint job? Me being a newbie, I honestly have no idea what they go for. We always see imperfections in our own rides that nobody else even notices. I am not into All the polishing and waxing another is slight imperfections wont show.Less waxing more time to enjoy. That is one reason that I an going with a satin finish. In hindsight I see the advantages to the patina look and have come to appreciate it.īottom line, whatever floats your boat man! I think it's fine if you don't sweat perfection with respect to paint and body - there is a 'cool factor' in a 40/50 year old truck that looks it but runs like a new one. This is about fun and enjoyment - if you're stressing every tiny detail and spending you're life savings in pursuit of perfection you're probably going to end up broke and disappointed. If I had it to do all over again I'd worry a whole lot less about perfect paint and focus on enjoying my truck - in other words a patina/rustic look has a great deal of appeal now that I know what it takes to get a decent grade paint job. The stress, frustration, aggrevation took a lot of the fun out of the project - I had a desire for perfection but had to learn to reconcile that with my extreme amature status.Īfter all that, when I go to a show, if I want my vehicle judged (which I do not) it's easy for them to pick my paint apart, using some guys vehicle with a $8k (outsourced) paintjob as the standard. In my opinion it looks great, but I can walk you around the truck and point out every tiny flaw. I learned tons and value the experience, but when it's all said and done I worked my butt off for a very decent but far from professional paint job. I invested hundreds of hours in sanding, painting, stripping, resanding, repainting, wetsanding, buffing, buffer burning, stripping, repsraying, wetsanding.you get the point. I spent hundred$ buying tools, hundred$ buying paint and hundred$ buying sandpaper. I spent months looking for someone to paint my truck for under 6K - only in frustration did I finally decide I would do it in my garage with my very basic tools and total lack of experience and know-how. ![]() ![]() Optimized ergonomic design Clean and crisp trigger reset with a built in trigger safety Fixed 3-dot sights Integrated picatinny accessory rail Optic ready pistol with 4 adapter plates (RMR, Venom, Delta Point and Romeo1) Low barrel axis for reduced perceived recoil 3 Interchangeable wrap around back-straps S, M, L Large trigger guard for use with or without gloves Enhanced grip texture which enables faster follow-up shots in all conditions Fully ambidextrous operating controls: slide stop lever, magazine releaseCaliber: 9mm Parabellum Barrel Length: 4. Its primary application is in the manufacture of polystyrene.Īlthough benzene is a naturally occurring substance produced by volcanoes and forest fires and found in many plants and animals, it is also a major industrial chemical derived from coal and oil. In nature, benzene is highly toxic and carcinogenic. It is a colourless liquid with a gasoline-like odour. Benzene is a basic petrochemical and a natural component of crude oil. In comparison to the meta intermediate, m-directing groups destabilise the intermediates for o,p substitution.īenzene is the most fundamental organic, aromatic hydrocarbon. In general, o,p-directing groups stabilise o,p substitution intermediates relative to the meta intermediate. O,p-substitution intermediates in relation to the meta intermediate. They are meta-directing not because they stabilise the intermediate for meta-substitution: far from it. Meta-directing deactivating groups are those that either do not donate electrons by resonance (sulfonic acid groups and ammonium ion groups) or actually withdraw electrons by resonance (carbonyl, nitrile, and nitro groups). Let's look at some phenol resonance forms where the -OH group is already attached to the benzene ring. The resonance theory explains why some substituents are ortho-para and others are meta-directing. What is Directive Effect? For Ortho-para Directors Example: Nitro group is a meta directing group. If the opposite is observed, the substituent is called a meta directing group. If the relative yield of the ortho product and that of the para product are higher than that of the meta product, the substituent on the benzene ring in the monosubstituted benzene is called an ortho, para directing group. ![]() Depending on their relative strengths, deactivating groups also determine the positions (relative to themselves) on the benzene ring where substitutions must take place this property is therefore important in processes of organic synthesis. In organic chemistry, a deactivating group (or electron withdrawing group) is a functional group attached to a benzene molecule that removes electron density from the benzene ring, making electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions slower and more complex relative to benzene. ![]() If you’re struggling to get this balance just right, let Match EQ help you out by limiting the action region to above roughly 6k–8k Hz. Small changes in the high frequencies can have a big sonic impact due to the sensitivity of the ear in this range. If you’re having trouble getting the midrange to be present and solid enough, without being harsh or muddy, try limiting the action area to between about 250–2k Hz for low-mids, or about 2k–8k Hz for high-mids. It’s been said many a time that music lives in the midrange and once you get that right, everything else can fall into place. If you love what you’ve got going on in the mid and high frequencies, but are unsure of your low end, put Match EQ to work by scanning one of your favorite references with a great low end and limiting the action area to below 250 Hz or so.
