Her Godchildren Deacon Johnathan Smith, Monique Simmonds, Marlowe Smith, Saleeka David, Micah Smith, and Alissa Smith. She adored all her grandchildren, Kaynen, Chassen, Ryan, Brianna, Gabrielle, Michael, Meagan (Donald), Isaiah and Joaquin. Her brothers, Reverend Wallace (Frances) Smith, North Preston, Martin (Sherry) Smith, Dartmouth, Mandy Smith, Dartmouth, and Charlie Grouse, Halifax. Althea is survived by her children: sons Dana (Charmaine) Willis, Lake Loon, Tomiko Smith, Shediac daughters Linda (Garfield) Trott, Pickering, Marilyn (Larry) Singer, Las Vegas, Caroline (Charlie) Crooks, Lawrencetown. Most of all, she is now at peace and reunited with her loving husband, the late Churchill Willis, her daughter Paula Willis and her sister and best friend, the late Madeline Smith. She positively adored her children and grandchildren, and all her nieces and nephews will truly miss her. She loved to spoil her dog and companion, Patches, and always enjoyed their early morning walks together. She was known as an avid shopper and liked spending time at her favourite stores buying home decor and clothing for herself and others. She never shied away from giving her opinion or advice she always wanted to help those she cared about. She regularly sent freshly baked pies to her brothers and enjoyed baking desserts for her family and friends. Althea was admired by everyone around her for her kindness, strength and generosity. She worked at the Home for Colored Children, the Children’s Training Centre and Nova Scotia Community College. She was a member of Saint Thomas Baptist Church and a long-time faithful member of the Senior Choir, Praise Team, Ladies Auxiliary, Women’s Missionary Society, and the Mass Choir. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Rachel (Downey) Smith. Age 78 of Cole Harbour passed away on September 7th, 2023, in the Victoria General, QEII.
